 SOUNDING LAKE ARENA - A LITTLE ABOUT US... click each image to enlarge Fall is here already and the Zieffle's are looking forward to a new winter season. After a busy summer with CARA, High School Rodeo, pro rodeos, the occasional mutton bustin' and camping trip. Darren enjoyed a solid year in professional rodeo - ending the season just shy of a CFR berth.  Ashton is back to school playing volleyball and going to some high school rodeos which should keep her busy this fall. The boys are busy growing and have a few afternoon living room rodeos to attend. As for myself I am just trying to keep the fires buring between nursing, arena and keeping the family fed. We are again excited to be to getting ready to host the Todd Boggust Memorial Jackpot Oct 25 -26 and are putting a schedule together for the Winter Series.  Darren grew up in his father’s arena learning how to become a calf roper, steer wrestler and cowboy. In fact many other local champions practiced and learned the tricks of the trade such as Ken Guenthner, Canadian SW Champion 1981 & $50,000 SW champion 1982, Mark Laye, $50,000 SW champion 1984, Darren Zieffle, Canadian CR Champion 1993, Blaine Pederson, World SW Champion 1994, Leon Laye, Canadian SW Champion 1998, BJ Zieffle, Canadian SW Champion 1999, Dave Gibson, Canadian SW Champion 2002, Trevor Bousquet, Lakeland SW Champion 2003 & 2005, Justin Guenthner, Canadian SW Champion 2004, Al Bouchard, $50,000 TD Champion 2005 and many others. Many hours of entertainment were enjoyed over the years. Our initial vision was to take this to the next level, and make this available to a wider variety of individuals, as well as to those who wish to be spectators. Sounding Lake Arena is different from many other arenas/facilities as we are a privately owned and operated, rather than ran by an Ag. Society etc. We feel this gives us the advantage of a more personal, customer-driven service that maintains our western heritage and way of life.Please go through the website to showcase a little of what goes on over the winter.
